1. Introduction to LPG Ship (1)

Introduction to LPG Ship (1) LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) Ship is mainly used to transport petroleum hydrocarbons mainly composed of propane and butane, as well as chemical products such as ethylene, propylene, and butene. These types of ships are mainly divided into three types based on the different liquefaction conditions during the transportation of goods: fully pressurized, semi cooled and semi pressurized, and fully cooled.

1. Full pressure LPG ship, also known as ambient temperature pressure LPG ship, works by pressurizing the cargo to a liquefied state under ambient temperature conditions.

. Therefore, the cabin of a fully pressurized LPG ship does not require insulation and low-temperature cooling equipment. Usually, the maximum design temperature for such ships is 45 ℃, and the maximum design pressure is between 1.75-2.0MPa (2.0MPa is equivalent to 200 meters of water column pressure). Due to technological and structural limitations, the cabin capacity of fully pressurized LPG ships is generally below 5000m ³. The cargo hold can withstand high pressure, but does not have the ability to withstand low temperatures. Full pressure LPG ships can transport propane, propylene, butane, butene LPG、 Chemical products such as ammonia and vinyl chloride with critical temperatures greater than 45 ℃. When the temperature of these chemical products is below 45 ℃, they can be liquefied by pressurization for safe transportation.

2. Semi cooled and semi pressurized LPG ship, also known as low-temperature pressurized LPG ship, combines two liquefaction methods: low-temperature and pressurized.

. These types of ships have different cooling temperatures and working pre

ssures depending on the cargo being transported. The majority of cooling temperatures are -48 ℃, while a few carry ethylene at -104 ℃, with working pressures ranging from 0.5-0.8 MPa. Usually, the maximum tank capacity of a semi cooled and semi pressurized LPG ship does not exceed 25000 cubic meters. A semi cooled and semi pressurized LPG ship is a multi-purpose vessel that can load a wide variety of goods. When the designed temperature of the cargo hold is below -104 ℃, ethylene can be carried; When the designed temperature of the cargo hold is below -163 ℃, LNG (liquefied natural gas) can even be transported. The cargo hold has both low temperature resistance and the ability to withstand certain pressures. In order to maintain the temperature and pressure inside the cargo hold, a larger capacity re liquefaction device must be installed on board, which cools the steam in the cargo hold into liquid through pressurization and cooling before returning it to the cargo hold.

III. Fully cooled LPG ship Fully cooled LPG ship, also known as low-temperature and atmospheric pressure LPG ship, stores its liquefied gas in an unpressurized liquid tank in a boiling state under atmospheric pressure.

. The design pressure of the liquid tank is generally 0.025MPa, and the minimum design temperature is -48 ℃. Fully cooled LPG ships are mainly used for transporting LPG, with a capacity of mostly 50000-100000 cubic meters.

4. Introduction to cargo hold types There are many types of cargo holds for liquefied gas (including LNG and LPG) transport ships, and there are two common types: membrane cargo holds and independent cargo holds.

. Among them, independent cargo holds are divided into A type, B type, and C type. Thin f
